Our Story
Founded on a Single Belief
Urban Lighting + Design was founded in San Diego with a conviction that the right light fixture can define a room as powerfully as any architectural element. We opened our Fourth Avenue showroom to give designers and architects a space to experience lighting the way it was meant to be seen — in context, at scale, and with the full weight of craft behind it.
Over the years we have built relationships with the world's most respected lighting studios —Artemide, Flos, Leucos Brands Ingo Maurer, Moooi, and more — bringing their work to the West Coast market with the depth of specification support that serious projects demand.
Every fixture in our showroom is selected by hand. We carry nothing we wouldn't specify ourselves.

Curation Over Volume
We carry fewer fixtures than most showrooms. Every piece earns its place through design integrity, material quality, and the ability to transform a space.
Specification Support
We work alongside designers and architects from concept through installation — providing photometric data, lead time management, and on-site coordination when needed.
Craft as Standard
We believe lighting should be considered with the same rigour as furniture or architecture. We hold our suppliers to that standard, and ourselves to it too.
